Young people need a new kitchen.
Open 10am-5pm every weekday, 4YP offers health and wellbeing support and advice to those aged 12-25 from a drop-in centre in Ipswich.
We also offer a number of facilities, including a shower and washing machine.
But after 14 years, their kitchen needs to be replaced.
There's no hot water. The cooker is encrusted with old food. Smells build as there's no extractor fan. Every time the dishwasher is turned on, it shorts the electricity. It's hard to fully turn off the taps. Windows are painted shut. Mold keeps growing in the washing machine.
For many young people, 4YP is pivotal to improving their emotional wellbeing, such as confidence. We want them to feel valued, worthy. It's difficult to do this with an aged, substandard kitchen. This is how it currently looks.
We would appreciate your help.
Our aim is to raise enough to purchase and fit a brand new kitchen - units, appliances, water heater, etc. From here, we will offer healthy eating workshops, a chance to prepare a healthy snack, and equip young people with independent living skills.
If you can donate to help this cause or offer to support in any other way such as installing the units, the 4YP team and young people would be exceptionally grateful.
