4YP is celebrating a generous £5,166 donation from the team at East of England Coop.
It came as a total surprise that we were chosen to be one of three good causes from East Anglia, each benefiting from an equal share of monies raised by the Co-operative Retail Trading Group at their annual Supplier Awards Dinner.
The dinner is the Coop's way of thanking suppliers for their continued support of the co-operative movement. They also raise money, shared among the charities nominated by regional Coops. 4YP is one of the lucky ones this year for the East, alongside Mid and North Essex Mind, and Norwich and Central Norfolk Mind.
In March, representatives from each of the charities were invited to receive this contribution, and a generous supply of tea, at Coop HQ near Ipswich. Helen Raven, their PR and Communications Manager, explained that we were all chosen for the work we do to support and improve local people’s wellbeing and mental health.
Karl Dickinson, Business and Marketing Coordinator for Suffolk Young People’s Health Project (4YP), said: “We were surprised and thrilled to be recognised at the CRTG Supplier Awards Dinner, and are absolutely delighted to receive this incredibly generous donation from the East of England Co-op. Words may not express just how grateful we are, but thank you.”
Roger Grosvenor, Joint Chief Executive at the East of England Co-op, said: “Through our Community Token Scheme and Co-op Cuppa initiatives, we understand how important it is for people to have support when they need it most. We are delighted to be able to support these organisations to carry on the good work they do in our communities and to continue to raise awareness of the growing need to support people’s wellbeing and mental health.”
